Current Mini Goal:

My Program

I don't really want to consider myself on a "diet". There are so many get thin quick scams out there that just don't work.Instead I wanted to make a healthy change that I can stick with forever. It is about breaking bad habits and replacing them with healthy ones. They say -"Don't live to eat but eat to live". I think that is very wise. What we put into our bodies is important and really affects every single aspect of our lives.

I read alot trying to find information. It is hard because there is so many conflicting reports out there and everyone with an opinion is going to say something! So mostly I try to just stick with the basic idea and what feels right to me. Trying to eat less processed foods and fruits & veggies. Also just try to be balanced.

I count calories. Because 1. It is free lol. But also because it just makes the most sense to me. It is all very simple you need to eat so much to function and cut out so many to lose weight. Also because it forces you to pay attention to what you are eating. I am not just blindly shoving things in my mouth but paying attention to what it is and what my body needs.

Also because before I started counting calories I would say over and over that I would just "eat healthy". With zero idea or clue as to what that really meant. So many things seem ok and you would never guess how many calories some things have or how fast they add up!

So I count calories using sparkpeople.com It is a great website and free. My food journal is listed here: http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_tracker.asp?id=CAELESTIS

Ontop of counting calories I also think exercise is important! I actually love to work out. Just that being inactive for so long makes it tough to start. But I have a huge goal to just be this active fit person going on hikes and runs. Doing a marathon would be amazing.

Right now I am starting off slow. I have a wii fit which I LOVE! I use My Fitness Coach which is the greatest game ever. It really pushes you and yet you don't get bored and half way through you will feel like you are gonna die and then boom it is over lol I love that! I also use Just Dance and the Wii fit games. And I have a dvd of Walk Away the Pounds by Leslie Sansone. Great for beginners.
